10 Thousand Camels Will Be Killed In Australia, Know Reason
In Australia, 10 thousand Camels are going to be killed on Wednesday. The only fault of these camels is that their population has increased and they drink more water. According to Australian media, these camels will be killed in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara- APY lands located in the south-west of the country. The South Australian Department for Environment and Water (DEW) said that this is necessary because their numbers are increasing very fast and there is a scarcity of water in the country at this time. These camels drink a lot of water.
Where the water appears, these camels go there
According to DEW, these camels reach wherever they see the source of water. Whether it is a tap, a water tank or a pond. Richard Kings, manager of APY Lands, said that these camels suddenly move among our people. This causes panic. Children and women are at risk of injury. They roam the entire desert in small pieces.
Sources of water from 5 kilometers away
According to the DEW, these are feral camels that sniff the water source from five kilometers away. Many times, these camels die of large sources of water and this causes pollution in the drinking water of humans.
They will be hunted while flying by helicopter
According to DEW, professional shooters will be called to kill these camels. These shooters would sit on helicopters and shoot these camels flying in the air. The process of killing them will last for a week. After this, people of the community living in APY Lands will burn their dead bodies for the next two weeks.
APY on our food, water, and resources
Richard Kings, manager of APY Lands, said that these camels not only spoil our water sources but also waste our food and resources. This has put the people of the school community in danger.
Older trees of APY Lands will also not survive
Richard Kings, manager of APY Lands, told that APY Lands has some very old tree-plant species, which become the bait of these camels. If they are not stopped, then these trees and plants will end.

There are about 1 million feral camels in Australia
The National Feral Camel Management Plan predicted in 2010, if not properly managed, the number of these camels will increase to 10 lakhs in the next decade across the country. DEW said that now the time has come to stop their growing population.
