Ashutosh Gowariker's film 'Panipat' is a historical story about the third battle of Panipat with creative freedom. The battle took place between Ahmed Shah Abdali, the ruler of Afghanistan and the Marathas. This battle is considered very important in history.

Story: Sadashivrao Bhau (Arjun Kapoor) is a skilled commander of the Maratha army of his cousin Nanasaheb Peshwa (Mohnish Bahl). Sadashivrao is elected as the head of the Maratha army fighting against Ahmed Shah Abdali after Udgir defeated the Nizam. Ahmad Shah Abdali (Sanjay Dutt), along with Najib-ul-Daula, openly enters the battlefield against the Marathas.

Review: The film shows the politics between Indian states at that time, how the states were factionalizing against each other. The film also showcases the love story of Sadashivrao Bhau and Parvati Bai, along with the bravery of the Marathas. The chemistry between Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon is a big plus point of the film. However, this film of more than 2 hours becomes cumbersome with so many characters.

Kriti Sanon's acting in the film is commendable, Arjun Kapoor is fine and seems strong in the climax of the film. Sanjay Dutt plays his character and looks terrifying as Ahmed Shah Abdali. Mohnish Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure, Zeenat Aman and Nawab Shah have done justice to their characters as the supporting cast of the film. A huge amount of money has been spent on designing and designing the film which also appears in the film. The music of Ajay-Atul is Karnapriya and will make your mood in the film.
